Boiling Point at Altitude

Water boils cooler up high — adjust your cook times.

How it works. Approximate: boiling point drops about 1 °C per ~285 m (≈ 1 °F per 500 ft) of elevation. Lower boiling temperature means food takes longer to cook; add time or use a pressure cooker.
